Stump grinding at Smith Mountain Lake and Moneta

Lake lots come with lake stumps: the tree that blocked the view, the pine leaning over the dock path, the cedar the builder left by the driveway.

Gone Stumpin' grinds them all, from Moneta out along the shoreline roads, with a firm price quoted free before any grinding starts.

Lake stumps we see

The view cost a tree

Half the stumps at the lake exist because somebody wanted the water in the picture. The view is open now; the stump in the middle of it can go too.

Sloped lots

Lake lots tilt, that is why the view is good. Slopes and tight spots get planned for when we quote, so the firm price already reflects the hill, not a day-of surprise.

Second homes and rentals

A lot of lake owners are not here year-round. Grinding gets coordinated by email with your visit or your rental calendar, so the work happens without you making a special trip.

Dock path and shoreline stumps

Stumps in the path to the water are ankle-breakers in flip-flops. They get ground out and the path gets its smooth walk back, with the shoreline notes below kept in mind.

Shoreline stumps are different

A stump right at the waterline can be holding soil in place, and Appalachian Power's shoreline rules apply to work inside the project boundary. Before anything near the shoreline gets disturbed, check the rules: Appalachian Power's Smith Mountain shoreline FAQs. We would rather talk it through first than grind something that was doing a job.

Not here full-time? No problem

Estimates, scheduling, and grind-day coordination all happen by email. Tell us your next visit window or your rental calendar gaps when you join the list, and we plan around them.

Lake days are route days

Moneta and the lake roads are a regular run from our Bedford base, which means lake stumps get batched into proper route days instead of one-off trips. Join the list early and your lot is on the first of them.

Same standard as everywhere: below grade, roots chased, chips raked level, and a firm price agreed before the wheel ever spins.
